Simon was amazed a few weeks ago when who should walk through the door of the White Lion but no other than Simon Theakston of the famous family brewing company that bears his name.
It was founded in 1827 by Simon’s great great grandfather, Robert Theakston, in the Yorkshire Dales market town of Masham, North Yorkshire. Simon and his three brothers now run the company.
Many of you from that part of the world or Lancashire may remember nights out drinking the famous Theakston’s Old Peculier.
As you might have guessed we are pleased to add Theakstons draught beers to our rotating list of Guest Ales and we will probably soon also be stocking the legendary Old Peculiar in bottles.
