Some very old pictures of Llanelian village and the White Lion are shown on the facebook page Colwyn Bay Past & Present This first one of Llanelian village shows the end of the pub where the kitchens now are, which we believe was a stables.
You can also make out what was the barn at the back which is now the Restaurant.
The extension of the front of the pub hadn’t then been built; the small brick building you can see on the right was a piggery with the then smaller pub behind it.
There are some facinating pictures on this site which are well worth a look, to remind us of how people lived then and that Colwyn Bay was a thriving seaside town.
A second picture on the facebook site, probably Victorian or Edwardian, shows a family outside the White Lion in their Sunday finery, possibly going to the Church.
