The White Lion received a telephone call at 10.00 on Wednesday, from a local farmer, asking if the kitchen was still open as an RAF Merlin Helicoptor had made a precautionary emergency landing just up the road from Llanelian, and the crew, on their way to RAF Valley, were starving.
Simon duly fired up the ovens, and the crew ate heartily and had an enjoyable few hours before transport arrived to collect them.
Rumours that the Merlin was overloaded with Prince George’s nursery requirements were unconfirmed and disappointingly Prince William wasn’t driving the minivan that collected the crew.
