White Lion Llanelian restoration

We White Lion repointing Aug 2017have just completed the repointing to the front of the White Lion, see picture left.  It is something we have wanted to do for some time but had been unable to find a company with the necessary skills for such an old building.

Our search and patience were finally rewarded recently and we are delighted with the results which restores the White Lion to how it could have looked many hundreds of years ago.

Many of the villagers have praised Simon and Nina and the workman for this excellent result.

Esme & Jack complete Prudential Ride London

Ride London Esme Jack Jason Mark Cavendish 2017Esme and Jack celebrate completing the Prudential Ride London 100 mile event last weekend.  Also taking part was Jason, Esme’s boyfriend, on the left.  They are photographed showing off their medals with Mark Cavendish, the Isle of Man professional cyclist.  At this, her second participation in the event, Esme completed the course in her record time which was more what would be expected from men and equal to some of the women professionals.  She complained that Jack & Jason pulled her along too quickly but she was proud of her time albeit suffering for a few days afterwards.  Prior to the event Esme appeared on Radio London, Radio Surrey, the BBC Website and the  event website promoting the event.  Radio London also interviewed Jack and Simon here in Llanelian via telephone.  They have all put their names down already for next year and it is rumoured that Simon will also be participating.

New Menus May 2017

One of our Roast DinnersWe are pleased to announce that we have reviewed all our menus and have introduced new spring menus with effect from Friday 9th May 2017.  There are some excellent new items but we haven’t dropped your old time favourites.
Regrettably due to the increasing cost of food, the new minimum wages, staff pension etc some of  prices have had to go up but we have tried to keep these to a minimum and this is our first increase for 3 years.  Even with these increases our prices remain extremely competitive for this area.  In addition we have a specials board which changes daily.

As before we welcome any feedback and suggestions you may have that we can consider for future menus or ideas for our specials board.
